The Nationwide Consumer Confidence Index (NCCI) is compiled in partnership with Nationwide Building Society and was first published in May 2004.
The NCCI is run by TNS Research International (TNS RI) Financial and Professional Services for Nationwide Building Society. Measuring began in May 2004, looking at the current and future economic and employment markets, consumer spending and optimism on property values in 6 months time.
Consumer Confidence Indices are run by TNS RI in more than a dozen countries across the world.
Each month,TNS RI's Financial and professional services team measures consumers’ views of the current and future economic situation of the UK, taking into account employment conditions and consumers’ personal expectations of the months ahead.
