Recent research undertaken for the Guardian by TNS-BMRB...

Recent research undertaken for the Guardian by TNS-BMRB found that there has been a dramatic rise in the number of people who say that quality of life can best be improved by looking after the community’s interests rather than their own individual interests.  This is in complete contrast to last year where the population was evenly split between looking after ‘ourselves’ and looking after the community.

Michelle Harrison, CEO of TNS, feels this reflects a move away from the right and left wing values of the main political parties, towards the middle ground.  It is also a reflection on the recession, which saw more people trying to improve the immediate world around them.
